Cancer Resources

Facing a cancer diagnosis can be stressful. It may leave you with questions about how to navigate life with this diagnosis. Some patients develop symptoms while others may not show symptoms until the disease has progressed. Getting screened may find breast, cervical, and colon cancers early, when treatment is likely to work best. You can also reduce your risk of getting cancer by making healthy choices like being physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding tobacco, protecting your skin and limiting the amount of alcohol you drink. We’ve put together the following resources page in one easy to find location with information on covered screenings, programs and tools available to help you and your family prevent and/or control cancer.

Imaging/Radiology Services: Save time and money by having your outpatient imaging/radiology services (i.e., ultrasound, diagnostic 2D/3D mammography, MRI, CT Scan) completed at in-network non-hospital affiliated freestanding facilities. These facilities provide similar quality as hospital affiliated locations and are often more convenient. Learn more. SBO recognizes that some members may need to have this care in the hospital setting, but if reasonable and/or advised by their physician/oncologist that these services may be done in a non-hospital affiliated freestanding facility, we want to make members aware of those options.
