Office of Women's Advancement and Advocacy

The Office of Women's Advancement and Advocacy (OWAA) is a key resource on the well-being of women and girls in Delaware, dedicated to promoting gender equity. It provides expert support—such as data analysis, research, and policy recommendations—to state leaders, helping shape informed decisions that impact women. OWAA also oversees two major initiatives:

  • The Delaware Commission for Women, which advises on strategic planning and programs.
  • The Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame Committee, which honors the achievements of outstanding Delaware women each year.
First Lady Dr. Lauren Meyer, Lt. Governor Kyle Evans Gay, DHR Secretary Yvonne Anders Gordon, and OWAA Director Sherese Brewington-Carr joined state leaders, advocates, and community partners celebratge Women’s Equality Day
