Intermittent FMLA
Intermittent FMLA lets you take leave in smaller increments rather than all at once. This helps you manage ongoing medical conditions or treatments.
When You Can Use Intermittent FMLA
You may use intermittent FMLA for:
- Chronic health conditions with flare-ups
- Ongoing treatment such as physical therapy, dialysis, or injections
- Follow-up medical appointments
- Occasional care for a family member
- Reduced work schedules ordered by a provider
Your Responsibilities
To use continuous FMLA, you must:
- Provide a medical certification that explains why you need intermittent leave.
- Use your agency’s call-out procedure for each absence.
- Keep the ACT Team updated when treatments or symptoms change.
How We Support You
