Non-Medicare Prescription Plan - CVS Caremark

PrudentRx Solution for Specialty Medications

Introducing the PrudentRx Solution

The State Employee Benefits Committee (SEBC) voted to implement the PrudentRx Solution effective July 1, 2023 for non-Medicare prescription plan participants. PrudentRx is an independent third-party organization that CVS has partnered with to offer cost savings for specialty medications. It allows members to get specialty medications at no cost to them by obtaining copay assistance from drug manufacturers. Learn More .

Who It’s For

PrudentRx will be available to individuals enrolled in the State of Delaware non-Medicare prescription plan administered by CVS Caremark.

How It Works

Individuals taking a specialty medication, and who are enrolled in PrudentRx, will pay $0 out-of-pocket for all specialty medications on the CVS Caremark Preferred Specialty Drug List beginning July 1, 2023. Specialty medications must be filled with CVS Specialty® Pharmacy through Home Delivery. PrudentRx will work with you and the drug manufacturers to obtain manufacturer copay card assistance where available, and will manage enrollment and renewals for those copay cards on your behalf. Any State of Delaware non-Medicare prescription plan member who does not participate in the program as required will be charged a 30% coinsurance for specialty medications.

State of Delaware non-Medicare prescription plan members taking a specialty medication will receive a letter from PrudentRx prior to July 1, 2023. It is very important members read the letter and take the appropriate action. Members can choose to opt out of the program anytime. If you have any questions about the solution please contact PrudentRx at 1-800-578-4403.
