Workforce Planning

Workforce Planning is a strategic process conducted by the State of Delaware to assure that our government agencies have the right people, with the right skills, in the right roles and at the right time. It is important that our state employee workforce delivers essential services, effectively and efficiently to meet the needs of the State. Through data-driven analysis and collaboration with agencies, Workforce Planning identifies current and future workforce needs, forecast workforce requirements, identifies areas where additional skills or resources may be needed, anticipates challenges, and develops strategies to address them. Our goal is to develop comprehensive workforce plans to attract qualified workforce, improve our staffing, minimize turnover, and increase employee productivity. Through aligning our workforce strategies with the goals and priorities of our state, we will strive to effectively meet service delivery, promote innovation, and drive the success of the State of Delaware.
