Hall Of Fame – Kids Video Contest
Calling all kids aged 8-13! Here’s your chance to honor the incredible women who have made history right here in Delaware. We invite you to participate in our kids video contest, inspired by the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame.
We are looking for short videos that celebrate a member of the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame. There are over 170 remarkable women to choose from!
The contest is available to all Delaware students ages 8-13. One winner will be chosen from two age categories: Ages 8-10 and Ages 11-13. Prizes will be awarded for the most inspiring and well-crafted videos.
Select entries may be featured on our website and social media channels! We can’t wait to see how you bring these incredible stories to life!
Entries must be original, unpublished, and created solely by the entrant. All entries must be accompanied by release forms for all students appearing in the video, signed by their parent or legal guardian. The deadline for entries is September 15, 2026. View the entry form.
How to Get Started, How to Enter, and Contest Guidelines
Prompt
Create a 1–3-minute video that highlights the achievements of a woman in the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame. In your video, share who she is, what she accomplished, and how her story inspires you. Be creative! You can use interviews, reenactments, or a combination of images, music, and narration to tell her story.
Key Points to Include
- A brief introduction of the woman you chose from the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame.
- Details about her life, achievements, and contributions to Delaware or beyond.
- How her story inspires you personally or how it can inspire others.
- Why it’s important to remember and celebrate her legacy.
Guidelines
- Celebrate a member of the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame. There are over 170 remarkable women.
- Videos should be 1-3 minutes long.
- Use original content–avoid using copyrighted material.
- Submit your video by uploading the YouTube URL of your video to the official Entry Form.
- Use the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame website to research inductees. Hover over each photo to view the individual’s name.
- Libraries are a great resource!
Judging Criteria and Selection of Winning Entries
Winning entries for each category will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Message & Theme (50%)
- Presentation (25%)
- Creativity (25%)
One winner will be selected from each of the two age groups: Ages 8-10 and Ages 11-13. OWAA has sole discretion over the selection of winning entries for each category. By entering this contest, entrants waive any right they have to dispute or otherwise challenge OWAA’s selection of the winning entries.
Prizes for Winning Entries
Prizes will be awarded for the two most inspiring and well-crafted videos. The winners in each category will receive the following:
- A $100 gift card
- Recognition and (2) tickets to the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony on October 15, 2026.
Prizes must be picked up in person.
OWAA will make reasonable efforts to notify winners by phone and/or email by September 30, 2026.
