BENEFIT RESOURCES & INFORMATION

State of Delaware Group Health Plan non-Medicare members, spouse or domestic partner, dependent children, parents, parents-in-law, and members living in the household can access up to 5 (five) FREE counseling sessions per issue, per plan year through the Health Advocate Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Health Advocate will attempt to refer the member to in-network providers with their health plan. After the 5 (five) free sessions:

  1. If the member has selected a provider who participates in-network with their health plan, they may choose to continue counseling through their health plan.
  2. If the member has selected a provider who does not participate in-network with their health plan, they may:
    • Continue counseling with the out-of-network provider, making payment arrangements as necessary, or
    • Contact their health plan to find a new provider who participates in-network with their health plan

EAP counseling is confidential for issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, grief, substance abuse, and family or relationship concerns. Counseling options include:

  • Telephone: Contact Health Advocate at 1-855-556-2065.
  • Virtual (Online): What to expect when accessing EAP counseling online . Health Advocate will provide a link to select and schedule an appointment online.
  • In-Person: The member contacts Health Advocate and discusses with the EAP Care Manager the reason for the call. Health Advocate will refer them to a counselor with confirmed availability within 2-3 business days.
