We understand that navigating the health system can be challenging. We have put together resources available to you under the Group Health Insurance Plan to assist you in navigating your health while feeling comfortable and safe to get the care you need. Below you can find resources on things like choosing the right healthcare setting, managing your overall wellbeing, and seeking your preventive services.

  • LGBT National Hotline: 1-888-843-4564 – Peer support and local resources for all ages

  • Trans Lifeline: 1-877-565-8860 – 24/7 Support for transgender people by transgender people

  • SAGE LGBT Elder Hotline: 1-888-234-7243 (SAGE) – Provides advocacy and services for LGBT adults aged 50 and older. The SAGE LGBT Elder Hotline is available 24/7, in English and Spanish, with translation in 180 languages.

  • The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing 24/7 crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning youth. On this site you can find resources such as a coming out handbook, how to cope with anxiety and stress as an LGBTQ youth, and a guide on how to be an Ally to Transgender and Nonbinary youth.

  • Understand the basics of LGBTQIA+ health.

  • Find answers to your questions about sexual orientation or gender identity.

  • FOLX Health is a nationwide healthcare provider dedicated to serving the unique needs of the LGBTQIA+ community. We offer a comprehensive range of services, including gender-affirming care, virtual primary care, sexual and reproductive health services, mental health support, fertility consultations, and more.

  • Seek preventive services, get help with navigating your health, and support with managing your care by contacting the Aetna One Advisor Team at 1-877-542-3862.

  • Save time and money by having your outpatient lab work (blood work) services completed at in-network non-hospital affiliated preferred labs. Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp are Aetna’s only preferred labs for State of Delaware Aetna members.

  • Custom Care Management Unit (CCMU): Call 1-844-459-6452 to be connected to specially trained wellness professionals. Your dedicated Registered Nurse Case Managers are considered to be a “Nurse in the Family” that can assist you with various transgender health needs such as:

    • LGBTQIA+ educational topics such as gender affirmation surgery, support groups, and behavioral health resources.
    • Prepares, supports and advocates for patients within their families and communities during transition and is very familiar with the gender reassignment surgery medical policy.
    • Planning for care at the hospital or understanding discharge instructions.
    • Understanding prevention and preventive screenings (i.e., colorectal exams, physical exams, etc.).
    • Review and understand your doctor’s instructions and/or treatment options.
    • Keep up with and plan for doctor’s and/or specialist’s appointments.

    There are Behavioral Health specialists available for support with mental and behavioral health concerns, treatment options, and locating an in-network provider (in-person or virtual visits).

    There are Wellness Coaches available for goal setting and accountability related to weight management, stress management, tobacco cessation, sleep improvement, exercise planning, and healthy eating.

    There are Social Workers available to connect you with local resources such as meal delivery and food supplies, transportation assistance, and other helpful support and resources.

  • The Highmark Community Resource tool can be accessed to locate specific services in your area should you need them.

  • Gender affirmation surgery may be covered when all criteria are met in Highmark Delaware’s Gender Affirmation Surgery medical policy. Seek support and guidance during your process .
